Brrrrr…. Bundle up! We’re going to Iceland with this edition of FACES Magazine. But don’t let the name fool you—Iceland isn’t always cold and it can be spectacularly beautiful at any time of year.

From a big-picture view of the geological wonders which make Iceland so unique, to getting up-close-and-personal with the people, places, and ponies of the island, you and your children will take an in-depth tour of a location you likely know very little about. Iceland is known as the land of fire and ice and you’ll understand why as you survey the 135 volcanic mountains (many of which are still active) and see how the ground smokes, learn about fumaroles, visit hot springs, and check out geysers. But that’s just scratching the surface (literally) as you also dig into Icelandic cuisine—complete with traditional recipes, the differences in their alphabet, the fun holiday traditions, and even their daily life.
