MUSE Magazine January 2016
MUSE is traveling to the ends of the Earth this month including articles such as “Breathtaking Crystals” about the crystals found deep in the Naica mines in Mexico, “Going Off the (Really) Deep End” which travels 6.77 miles down in the Mariana Trench, and “Antarctica’s Hidden Wetland,” a trip to a huge lake hidden miles below the ice sheet that covers most of Antarctica. Other articles include a profile of marine biologist Helen Scales, a look at a plant with the ability to detect where diamonds might be located, and an investigation of “sundogs,” bright spots in the sky that appear when light from the sun passes through ice crystals in the atmosphere. Regular features include: Muse Mail and Muse News, our newly named comic “Parallel U”, Do the Math, and Hands-on.
